The Nifty 50 and Sensex pared early gains to close off their highs, weighed down by losses in banking and auto stocks, as investors remained cautious ahead of further developments in the ongoing US–Iran negotiations.

The 30-share benchmark index ended at 77988.68 down by -122.56 points or by -0.16 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24196.75 down by -34.55 points or by -0.14 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 78730.32 and intraday low of 77674.93 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24400.95 and intraday low of 24102.8

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Trent Ltd. (Rs. 4089.00,+2.81%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 252.75,+2.54%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1549.45,+2.30%), Bharat Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 455.60,+1.81%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1318.90,+1.05%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 795.50,-1.75%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 4457.90,-1.45%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3223.85,-0.99%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 1840.35,-0.82%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 379.40,-0.75%), among others.
