Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty were trading higher on the first trading session of 2026 supported by steady buying by domestic institutional investors and strong gains in blue-chip Reliance Industries.

At 10:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 85329.82 up by 109.22 points or by 0.13 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26132.15 up by 2.55 points or by 0.01 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 85451.7 and intraday low of 85171.01 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26197.55 and intraday low of 26127.95
