Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) on Tuesday said a recent fire at its Rajasthan refinery is unlikely to have any significant financial or operational impact, with all units reported to be structurally safe.
The incident occurred on April 20 at the crude distillation unit and was likely triggered by a hydrocarbon leak from a valve or flange within a heat exchanger circuit, according to the company’s exchange filing.
HPCL added that the fire was contained to the heat exchanger stack and was swiftly brought under control by the on-site emergency response team.
