Shares of Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Ltd (CMPDIL), a subsidiary of Coal India, made a weak debut on the stock exchanges on Monday, listing at a discount of nearly 7% to its issue price of Rs 172.
On the BSE, the stock opened at Rs 162.80, reflecting a decline of 5.34% from the issue price. Meanwhile, on the NSE, it listed at Rs 160, marking a sharper discount of 6.97%.
The subdued listing indicates cautious investor sentiment despite the company’s strong parentage and sector positioning.
