Hexaware Technologies, a global leader in digital transformation, has once again been named the Sustainable Organization of the Year at the prestigious Net Zero Summit & Awards 2025. This consecutive win celebrates Hexaware’s pioneering efforts in reshaping the future of corporate sustainability, reinforcing its leadership in climate action, circular economy innovation, and equitable business practices.
The award, regarded as one of the most distinguished recognitions at the summit, applauds Hexaware’s comprehensive and measurable approach to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles. The company stood out for seamlessly blending its green initiatives with strategic business growth, earning praise from evaluators for its science-based climate targets, renewable energy milestones, and socially inclusive policies.
Hexaware’s climate leadership is underscored by its validated science-based targets aligned with the Paris Agreement’s 1.5øC pathway. In 2024, 71% of its owned campuses were powered by renewable energy—up from 59% in 2023—resulting in the avoidance of over 6,400 tons of CO2 emissions. The company also expanded its green electricity usage across India to 57.5%, up from 39.7% the previous year, thanks to collaborations with partners like Beta Wind Farm. With a clear commitment to achieving 70% renewable energy usage by 2030 and net-zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2040, Hexaware continues to accelerate its climate action journey.
In the area of circular economy, Hexaware has achieved a remarkable zero-waste-to-landfill status through 100% waste segregation, partnerships with Earth Recyclers for food waste composting, and responsible e-waste recycling. The company has also implemented a single-use plastic ban across its campuses and successfully achieved Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) at its Chennai and Pune facilities, with plans to extend this to a third campus by 2027.
Workplace sustainability and employee well-being also played a pivotal role in Hexaware’s recognition. The company reported zero safety incidents in 2024 and maintains ISO 45001 certification along with advanced air quality monitoring systems. It was also recognized as one of the “Best Organizations for Women 2024” by Economic Times NOW for the second year in a row, reflecting its commitment to gender equity and inclusion. Furthermore, its LEED-certified workspaces deliver 33% energy savings, 56% water efficiency, and superior indoor air quality.
Hexaware’s strong ESG performance continues to gain global acknowledgment. The company received an EcoVadis Silver Medal, placing it in the 92nd percentile among its peers. It also earned a high score of 91 on the Achilles Sustainability Index and made a strong debut in CDP ratings with a ‘B-’ in Water Security and a ‘C’ in Climate, demonstrating its transparency and accountability in environmental reporting.
Looking ahead, Hexaware plans to expand its renewable energy partnerships on a global scale, initiate water stewardship projects in five new communities by 2026, and transition all key offices to 100% renewable electricity by 2030.
Uma Thomas, Chief Risk Officer at Hexaware, attributed the win to the collective passion and action of the company’s 32,000 employees, saying, “This back-to-back win is a testament to the passion of 32,000 Hexawarians who turn sustainability into action every day. From powering our campuses with 71% renewables to achieving zero waste-to-landfill, we’re proving that technology and responsibility can—and must—go hand in hand. Together, we’re scripting a greener future, one innovation at a time.”
Echoing this sentiment, R. Srikrishna, Chief Executive Officer of Hexaware, added, “This award isn’t just ours—it belongs to every partner, client, and employee who joined us on this journey. Whether reviving lakes in drought-prone regions or deploying AI-driven energy-saving tech, we’re committed to pushing boundaries. The best is yet to come.”
