Stock market benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty rallied on Friday after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) cut key benchmark interest rate for the first time in six months and took steps to boost liquidity to support a "goldilocks" economy in the face of high US tariffs.
The 30-share benchmark index ended at 85712.37 up by 447.05 points or by 0.52 % and then NSE Nifty was at 26186.45 up by 152.7 points or by 0.59 %.
Sensex touched intraday high of 85796.72 and intraday low of 85078.12 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 26202.6 and intraday low of 25985.35
The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were State Bank of India (Rs. 971.40,+2.46%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 2092.80,+2.08%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 1048.45,+1.89%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 16285.00,+1.80%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1682.85,+1.68%), among others.
The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2339.00,-5.00%), Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 292.40,-1.15%), Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (Rs. 353.50,-0.83%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1805.00,-0.75%), among others.
