Balaji Telefilms announced a blockbuster debut for its new digital offering, Balaji Astro Guide, which recorded over 250,000 downloads within the first 24 hours of launch. The app has quickly climbed to the top of the iOS Free App (Lifestyle) charts, making it one of the fastest-scaling apps from an Indian entertainment studio.
The launch announcement by Joint MD Ekta Ravi Kapoor created massive user traffic, pushing peak loads to 2–3 times above projections. Although the surge briefly affected server performance, systems were quickly stabilised.
With strong initial adoption, the app is emerging as a major player in India’s rapidly growing astrology and spiritual wellness category—one of the country’s highest-frequency digital segments.
Ekta Ravi Kapoor said the early response reflects the trust and authenticity the company aims to bring to this culturally rooted space. Group CEO & CFO Sanjay Dwivedi added that the exceptional market response exceeds expectations and is likely to contribute meaningfully to Balaji’s digital revenue over the next 12–18 months.
